Important announcement: military spouses can access employment resources in BC before arriving with posting message as proof of residency! #supportourtroops🇨🇦

I was honoured to participate in today’s provincial announcement with the Honourable Sheila Malcolmson and @darlenerotchfordmla Parliamentary Secretary of Armed Forces Development and Veteran Affairs / MLA representative of Colwood and Esquimalt about an important new initiative supporting Canadian Armed Forces families relocating to British Columbia.

Today, it was announced that WorkBC employment services will now be available to military spouses and dependent adult children before they establish residency in B.C. This change removes a major barrier that has historically made it difficult for military families to secure employment when moving between provinces.

As someone who has experienced military relocations firsthand, it was meaningful to contribute my perspective on how initiatives like this can make a real difference. Giving military spouses and adult children access to career planning, training referrals, and job search support earlier in the relocation process will help families transition more smoothly and reduce the financial and emotional strain that often comes with these moves.

I am grateful to have been part of this conversation and to support efforts that strengthen opportunities for military families in our communities.

This gem in the woods with beautiful forested views is about to receive a full transformation. KG was referred to me by a family I have had the pleasure of working with many times over the past few years. She is the type of woman many of us aspire to be. Highly educated, rich in life experience, a natural leader, and someone who gives back generously to her community.

Together, we searched for a home that offered the kind of view and setting worthy of a thoughtful update, and this property delivered exactly that. As expected with an older home, a few repairs needed to be addressed before closing. Working with @quigleyhomes, we were able to coordinate contractors to repair the roof and successfully negotiate a price reduction for a failed heat pump.

Together with @editdesign.co, they are dreaming and designing KG's dream Island home. I truly cannot wait to see the incredible remodel they create here. It is going to be something special.

How We Sold This Home in 7 Days

S&S reached out to me to talk about their next chapter. A yard for their new pup was calling their name. I had helped them purchase this condo a few years ago, and now it was time to make a lifestyle move.

Condo markets can be competitive, so we knew this sale had to be strategic.

They invested where it mattered most. New kitchen cabinets. Fresh paint throughout. They decluttered and created a clean, inviting space. I brought in additional staging pieces to elevate the look and feel. We focused our media on what truly sells this location: walking distance to the ocean, vibrant restaurants and cafés, and proximity to CFB Esquimalt.

We timed everything carefully. The open house was scheduled for the same day S&S boarded a flight to Mexico. By the time they landed, we had an offer in hand.

That kind of preparation does not happen by accident.

S&S understood something important. Yes, condo values had softened from their original purchase price. However, the detached market had adjusted as well. Instead of focusing on what they were “losing,” we focused on what they were gaining.

By selling strategically in today’s market, they positioned themselves to upsize at a better overall entry point. The equity opportunity on their next home will outweigh the short-term shift in condo values.
